Good preparation becomes visible when work starts on site. The surveys, engineering and planning completed so far help the building team prepare the foundations and openings needed for your glass extension.

At Glasspace, we take pride in resolving these requirements early so the work can begin in an organised way.

Protecting the working area

Before work starts, we agree access and arrangements for protecting your home and garden. We discuss the effect on your routine, where materials can be stored and how deliveries will reach the site.

Safe working areas and clear access routes help the team carry out the agreed work while keeping disruption manageable.

Completing the supporting works

Foundations are constructed to the agreed structural design. Relevant drainage and services are coordinated at the same time, and levels are checked so the door thresholds and surrounding finishes can meet as planned.

Required inspections are arranged before the relevant work is covered. If an opening in your home needs altering, the work follows the engineer's design, with any temporary support planned and installed by competent specialists.

These works may be delivered by Glasspace or another contractor according to the responsibilities confirmed in your quotation.

Checking that the site is ready

Before glazing installation, we check the completed supports, openings and levels against the agreed requirements. Access and lifting arrangements are reviewed too.

Any outstanding items are identified and addressed. Where dimensions need verifying for manufacture, those checks follow the measurement sequence agreed for your project.

Some manufacturing and site activities may overlap. The important point is that the necessary checks are completed before the next dependent task begins.
