Before we quote for your glass extension, we want to meet you and see your property. Every site is different, and a visit gives us a much better understanding of the work than dimensions alone.
You can begin with a phone call or email. You may already have drawings and planning permission, or simply an idea for a brighter room overlooking the garden. Either is a useful starting point.
Understanding what you want to achieve
At our first meeting, we discuss how you would like to use the extension and how it should connect with your home. We also talk about your budget, preferred timescale and any work already completed with an architect.
You do not need to have every answer. The visit is an opportunity to explore your ideas, ask questions and meet the people who would help deliver the project.
Looking at the property and planning position
We look at the proposed location, visible changes in level, connections to the house and access for delivery and installation. We identify anything that may need a detailed survey or further investigation.
Planning is part of this first on-site conversation. If you already have permission, we can arrange for the architect who handles our planning applications to review the approved drawings and conditions. If you need assistance, we can introduce you so they can advise on the appropriate route. Where you have your own architect, we discuss how to work with them.
Agreeing the next step
We also introduce our glass extension system and explain how the doors form part of its design. By the end of the meeting, we should have a clearer brief and know what information is needed to prepare your quotation.
